Yey!! Congratulations on finding the perfect veil for your big day. Now that's been ticked off your list (phew!), here are some handy tips to help guide you on how to store your veil before and after your wedding.
Once you purchase a veil from us, your veil will be packaged beautifully and securely wrapped in pH neutral tissue paper and will include a veil hanging hook which is designed to protect our luxury fabric.
I know you will be eager to open your gorgeous package so when you do chose to unwrap your veil from the tissue paper, make sure the area is clean and free from dust, dog hair and any other nasties that could be lying around. You can then use the veil hanging hook to store in a cupboard so there is less chance of it getting dirty or creasing over time.
Before your wedding day, your veil should be stored in a dark and dry space to prevent your veil from discolouration.
If you want to take extra precaution, you can also choose to purchase a wedding veil storage bag if you need to store your veil for a few months before your big day. The veil storage bag should be acid free and made from breathable fabric to allow air to flow freely around the veil to prevent creasing and mould.
So now your big day has arrived! You will need to appoint one of your bridesmaids to make sure your veil is unwrapped and hung using the veil hanging hook and allow for the entire veil to fall without any folds. If you are pushed for time or don't have enough space to hang your veil, you can also use a steamer on the day of your wedding to get rid of any stubborn creasing.
Tip – If you don’t have a steamer handy, hanging your veil in the bathroom with the hot water running from the shower is another easy way to get rid of any creasing!
After your wedding and when normality resumes, its time for you to choose what you’re going to do with your wedding veil. If you chose to keep your veil, you will want to ensure it is stored in a wedding veil storage bag or a pH neutral acid free box to ensure it is kept in good shape and colour, just in case you ever want to wear it again for fun or if you are thinking of sharing the love and gifting your veil to a friend or family member.
I hope this quick guide has answered any questions you may of had on how to store your veil however, please contact us if you require any further information and we would be happy to help!
With love, Heather x
